Parisian Victorian Glass

Ooo La La!

It seems as though every time that I have to look for something in my Studio, I find something else!  C'est la vie!

Originally, I found a long strand of ribbon shown below in a Paris flea market.  The ribbon was adorned with green and tiny, tiny brown seed beads.  But what really struck me, were the lavender tube beads that were also sewn onto it.  Incredibly, it was all authentic Victorian Glass from the 1800's! 

Like I do with so many things, I tucked the ribbon away, knowing that I would use it one day.  I just didn't know what for.  Then, not too long ago, I was looking through a bin of items and I came across the ribbon again.

Once I saw it, a bell went off.  Earrings!

I've used the perfect color lavender Victorian Glass tubes as a base and have hand-knotted the green and brown glass seed beads into the design.  They're funky, but elegant, at the same time.
 
Earring length: just shy of 1 1/2" from the bottom of the hook. Lightweight. 
Sterling silver hooks. All earrings include earring backs.
